The US actor James Caan, known from the classic film “The Godfather”, is dead. He died at the age of 82, as his manager announced on Thursday.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jimmy on the evening of July 6th,” Caan’s family wrote on Twitter. Caan was nominated for an Oscar for his role as the eldest son of a mafia family, Sonny Corleone, in the 1972 film epic directed by Francis Ford Coppola.
The actor, born in 1940 in the Bronx, New York, is also known for films such as “Misery”, “The Loner” and “Rollerball”.
