A 73-year-old California guy diving off the shore of Maui was attacked Friday with an 8-foot-long shark.

The guy was about 40 yards from shore after he suffered cuts to his wing, officials explained.

“When employees arrived, they discovered that the victim had made it to shore and had been getting first aid in the team in the KOR,” the flame separtment composed in a Friday Facebook article .

The Honolulu Star Adviser reported Friday the guy was taken to Maui Memorial Hospital in good shape.

Based on Hawaii’s Department of Land and Natural Resources, there weren’t any additional snorkelers or swimmers from the immediate area and the guy called 911 by itself.

Officers in their Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement and Divisions of Aquatic Resources published shark warning signals from the region following the experience and patrolled the shore on-foot and from all-terrain vehicle to frighten individuals.

Beach-goers were advised to remain out of the water before an all-clear has been issued.
