Unknown persons have scratched swastikas into the paint on numerous cars in south-east Berlin. “We have had 81 cases reported to us since Thursday. There can be more because some owners are only now discovering the damage,” said a police spokeswoman on Saturday.

A driver noticed a scratched swastika on the hood of his car in the Niederschoeneweide district on Thursday around 11:30 a.m. The man also discovered swastikas on two other cars on Köllnische Straße.

Another car on Rudower Strasse with the same damage was reported to the officials on Thursday evening. Since then, countless other car owners have reported, said the spokeswoman. “There are always swastikas scratched into them. There is no other damage.”
