Doctor, lawyer, geriatric nurse? Opinions differ when it comes to choosing a career, as there are some jobs that hardly anyone wants to do. Employees are now sharing which ones are significantly undervalued and a lot of fun.

“Which jobs are significantly better than most people realize?” asks a user on the platform Reddit, which is used by millions of people. Users share their jobs in the thousands of comments.

One comment with thousands of likes claims that he has found professional fulfillment as a caretaker. “I can’t take work home with me, and there’s no job that gives more instant gratification than cleaning,” the man said.

In addition, in this job you “simply make the world better”. In the hundreds of answers, other users of the app agree with him. They also emphasize the importance of the profession in society.

Another job that is significantly better than its reputation is locksmith. A man who works as this is happy to be able to use his special skills to help people. He can also solve different puzzles every day, which brings him satisfaction. “I’ve had jobs that paid better but didn’t feel as good,” the man said.

A garbage worker also talks about his job, which he finds “great” because he gets to work in the fresh air. He also stays active and keeps himself fit. The pay is also above average. Gardeners also rave about their job in the thousands of comments, as do people who work in agriculture and spend most of their time outside.

An introverted person recommends her job as a hotel receptionist, especially on night shifts, to similar readers. “I read a lot of books or play video games,” writes the Reddit user.

Things also get notable with a funeral director who raves about his job choice. He says he can work with people who are struggling and help them get through a difficult time.

However, the most popular jobs in Germany are not represented in the list at all. A study by the job portal “Glasdoor”, which is cited by “Business Insider”, lists primarily tech jobs in the top ranks.

Most employees are looking for data scientist, project/product manager and software developer jobs. The salary is particularly appealing here.

The economists gave Olaf Scholz and Robert Habeck some important reading. This is not particularly positive. The scientists come to a conclusion that the two politicians have not yet expressed publicly.
