The weekend’s weather will bring a mix of partly heavy thunderstorms, showers and sunshine. There is also a risk of thunderstorms in some places.

“Germany is currently between an extensive low called “Rebecca” near the British Isles and the high “Frido” over Eastern Europe. We get warm, humid air from the south, which often causes showers and thunderstorms, ”explained a meteorologist from the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach on Friday. This weather situation will continue in the coming days.

While it can often rain and thunderstorms in large parts of Germany on Friday and thunderstorms are also possible locally due to heavy rain and hail, it should initially remain dry, sunny and hot east of the Elbe – “on Saturday it will be the other way around”, according to the DWD .

In the night to Saturday it can still thunder and lightning, especially in the south-east and in the Alps, heavy rain also threatens storms. During the day, individual showers or thunderstorms with a risk of heavy rain are in sight, preferably in the north and east. Otherwise it will be clear to cloudy with longer sunshine and less chance of showers and thunderstorms. The thermometer rises up to 29 degrees.
