The 9-euro monthly ticket for August expires after this Wednesday, tickets and subscriptions for the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) and the S-Bahn then cost the usual price again. For example, a single ticket in the AB tariff zone again costs three euros, and the VBB monthly ticket for the same tariff zone costs 86 euros again.
For three months, subscribers and holders of the 9-euro ticket could travel not only through Berlin, but throughout Germany for nine euros each. With the campaign, the federal government wanted to relieve the population, which was burdened by high inflation, financially.
