SPD party leader Lars Klingbeil sees a difficult time in Germany in view of the looming gas crisis. “We are facing dramatic months,” said Klingbeil on Monday in the RTL / ntv program “Frühstart”.
He called on citizens to save energy: “We also have to save in the private sector.”
The aim must be not to rationalize the gas for the industry. “That would have dramatic consequences for the labor market,” he said. “We have to avoid that, and everyone can contribute to that.”
With a view to the upcoming maintenance work on the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline, Klingbeil says: “There is a likelihood that Putin will no longer open the gas tap after the maintenance work.”
