There were several traffic jams on the Berlin A100 city motorway on Tuesday due to accidents.

As the traffic information center (VIZ) Berlin announced on Twitter, the A100 towards Neukölln is currently closed at Tempelhofer Damm. The VIZ asks motorists to drive around the area as widely as possible.

The travel time on the A100 in the direction of Neukölln will be 80 minutes longer. The entire motorway environment is also affected by traffic jams. The trip from Tempelhofer Damm takes 45 minutes longer out of town and 20 minutes into town. According to the VIZ, Sachsendamm and Schöneberger Straße are also affected.

The closure is expected to last until at least 4:30 p.m., it said. According to media reports, oil had leaked from a truck in the morning and the motorway had to be closed for the cleaning work.

According to the VIZ, there are also restrictions on the A100 at the level of the Rudolf Wissell Bridge. Accordingly, the lane towards Wedding was narrowed to one lane due to an accident between Spandauer Damm and Rudolf-Wissell-Bridge. The travel time is extended by 40 minutes, but the accident site itself has now been cleared.
