Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) sets off on a two-day trip to Scandinavia on Monday. In the Norwegian capital, Oslo, he first wants to meet the heads of government of the Nordic countries, which include Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Iceland.
The focus will be on cooperation in the energy sector, security issues and the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. Two of the Nordic countries – Finland and Sweden – want to join NATO.
Following the deliberations in a large group, Scholz will meet with the Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre. In the evening, Scholz will travel to Sweden, where he will meet the Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson for a private conversation.
