(Montreal) The bonuses paid to nursing staff, which are due to end next Thursday, would be extended at least until June.

This is one of the proposals that the Treasury Board made on Monday to public sector unions, when it tabled a new offer for state employees.

On March 30, in fact, several bonuses must end, in particular a 3% bonus paid to healthcare professionals, as well as a night bonus of 2.5% and an evening bonus of 4%.

The Interprofessional Health Federation (FIQ) had already sounded the alarm, fearing the repercussions of the end of these bonuses for nurses.

In her improved offer, the President of the Treasury Board, Sonia LeBel, specifies regarding these bonuses that a “reassessment of the situation will be carried out next June, depending on the progress of the negotiations in progress”.

Quebec’s new offer also provides for a “voluntary 5-year retention” program which provides for an increase in the retirement pension and a reduction in contributions for experienced employees who continue to work full-time.

Quebec reiterated the fact that it wants to better pay the psychologists in the network, who are lagging behind in this regard compared to the private sector.
