In view of the current energy crisis, the saunas in the municipal pools in the city of Munich will remain closed in the future – and the water will be even cooler. All ten saunas in the pools of Stadtwerke München (SWM) remained closed from August 1 until further notice, those responsible announced on Friday.

In addition, the minimum temperatures in the swimming pools of the indoor pools will be reduced by one degree to 26 degrees. In the teaching pools and warm water outdoor pools it will be 28 instead of the current 30 degrees.

A minimum temperature of 22 degrees is set for all pools in the outdoor pool. “These additional saving measures contribute to a further reduction in the amount of gas required and lower the energy consumption for heating the pools,” explained SWM.
