Sections of the pro-Russian militia in the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR) reportedly appear to be refusing to continue fighting in the Donetsk region and complain about the pace of offensives outside the Luhansk region.

This was reported by the American military think tank “Institute for the Study of War” (ISW). They cite a video of a military battalion that was broadcast by several Ukrainian channels on August 15.

This shows soldiers from LNR Battalion 2740 refusing to continue fighting in Donetsk. The soldiers claim that they have done their job by capturing Luhansk and have already celebrated their victory.

At least one Russian military blogger, according to ISW, has criticized the LNR soldiers for wanting Russian support for their own “liberation” but now refusing to continue fighting in the Donetsk region.
