Eastern REM, construction industry… Here’s what not to miss this week.

The mayors of Laval, Terrebonne, Repentigny, Mascouche and the mayoress of Montreal-East, respectively MM. Stéphane Boyer, Mathieu Traversy, Nicolas Dufour, Guillaume Tremblay and Ms. Anne St-Laurent will make a joint announcement about the REM de l’Est.

Thousands of people will gather in the streets of Montreal on the occasion of International Workers’ Day. The event organized by the Montreal Coalition on May 1st will take place under the theme: we don’t take advantage of inflation! The rally is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Parc du Souvenir, Verdun metro station.

The Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal invites media representatives to its breakfast discussion with the Minister of Labour, Minister responsible for the Mauricie region and the Nord-du-Québec region, Jean Boulet. He will notably address topics such as the efficiency of the construction industry, productivity and worker retention.

Yseult Riopelle, daughter of artist Jean-Paul Riopelle, will receive the insignia of the Order of Arts and Letters from Mr. Michel Miraillet, Ambassador of France to Canada.

The Minister responsible for Social Services, Lionel Carmant, will launch the My family, my community program in the Jeanne-Mance local services network (RLS) on the territory of the Island of Montreal.

The Minister of First Nations and Inuit Relations, Mr. Ian Lafrenière, will participate in the first public consultation on the revitalization and promotion of Indigenous languages.
