The car manufacturer wants to replace the failure with so-called green electricity from renewable energy sources, announced CEO Ola Källenius on Wednesday in Stuttgart at a conference call on the business figures for the first half of the year.
The carmaker has already reduced its gas consumption by a tenth, said the CEO. As the company also announced, the paint shop in the large Swabian plant in Sindelfingen can do without a gas supply in an emergency.
