Two manhole covers were thrown from a bridge onto Autobahn 7 near Hildesheim on Saturday night. As a result, two people were injured.
One of the manhole covers hit the windshield of a car, seriously injuring the 52-year-old driver and his 43-year-old passenger life-threateningly, police said on Saturday. The second manhole cover landed in the oncoming lane and damaged at least four vehicles there.
