Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) is counting on rapid negotiations in the federal government for adequate corona protection measures for the autumn. The negotiations between him and Federal Minister of Justice Marco Buschmann (FDP) had begun, Lauterbach said after receiving a report on the evaluation of the previous Corona requirements on Friday in Berlin.

Federal Minister of Justice Marco Buschmann has also promised a speedy agreement in the government on corona protection instruments for the fall. The FDP politician said on Friday in Berlin that he was very confident that a good proposal could be made in the coalition in the course of July.

“We work constructively and very quickly in confidentiality, and we have to be well prepared for the fall,” says Lauterbach. The citizens rightly expected that all the instruments would then be at hand to be able to deal with an autumn wave “which I expect to be a severe autumn wave”. The expert report brings an important, if not the only perspective.

Lauterbach said the endemic state has not yet been reached, that is, a state in which the virus is permanently present. In Germany there is currently a “real summer wave”. “The summer wave will probably not end by itself,” says Lauterbach.

The experts had presented their long-awaited report. Accordingly, protective measures such as wearing a mask can continue to be helpful against the corona virus. You will therefore of course have a role in the protection concept for the winter. Behind many other known conditions, the expert committee puts big question marks, due to a lack of sufficient data, no reliable assessments are possible.
