(Montreal) Another episode of shots being fired at a residential building in Montreal occurred Tuesday night, but this time police managed to quickly locate suspects and arrest them.

According to what was reported to the 911 emergency telephone exchange, the shooting occurred around 9:40 p.m. on the Terrasse des Oblats, near rue Clément, in the borough of LaSalle.

The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) says that upon their arrival at the scene, its police officers encountered a woman and two young men who may have been targeted by the shots; they had not been injured.

Shortly after, not far from there, two suspects aged 21 and 22 were spotted and arrested. The younger of the two is known to the police.

The two young men were transported to an investigation center where they were to undergo interrogation on Wednesday.

In the meantime, police have erected a security perimeter around the apartment building targeted by gunfire. Canine squad dogs and forensic identification technicians scoured the area for clues.

Impacts of firearm projectiles were observed on the building.

SPVM investigators also had to meet with people from the neighborhood to try to establish the circumstances of the event.
