Israel has warned of an escalation in the region after intercepting a drone from Lebanon again. “Hezbollah’s aggression is unacceptable and could lead to an unnecessary escalation in the entire region,” Israeli Prime Minister Jair Lapid said Tuesday after a visit to the border with Lebanon. “The State of Israel stands ready to take action against any threat.”

Israel’s army said it had intercepted a drone from Lebanon the day before. In early July, Israeli forces shot down three Lebanese Hezbollah drones over the Mediterranean Sea. The Shiite militia has close ties to Israel’s nemesis Iran.

Lapid said Israel will continue to crack down on any Iranian proxies in the region and beyond. “We will act alone and jointly with other countries in the region to prevent Iran from undermining regional stability.”
