The Berlin public prosecutor’s office is investigating suspected real estate fraud with Russian properties worth millions.

A spokesman for the authority confirmed a corresponding report by “Spiegel” on Friday when asked. According to this, a 69-year-old dentist from Berlin and a confidant are said to have sold four Russian state-owned properties in Berlin last year without the country’s embassy noticing.

According to the report, the doctor is said to have pretended to be a Kremlin representative and carried out the sales with allegedly forged powers of attorney. According to “Spiegel”, the properties had a total value of around 13.5 million euros. It was not initially known to whom the areas were sold.
