The Berlin fast delivery service Flink buys its French competitor Cajoo. The start-up announced this on Monday evening. According to Flink, it is now the market leader in France.

In this way, the retail chain Carrefour also joins Flink and becomes the exclusive trading partner. Flink already has a similar cooperation in Germany with the Rewe Group.

Founded in early 2021, Flink delivers groceries by bike courier in minutes. Co-founder Oliver Merkel said of the deal:

“Cajoo has done a great job leading the quick commerce revolution in France and building a loyal customer base. We are delighted to join forces under the Flink brand and become number one in France.”

Flink last raised $750 million from investors in December. The market for express delivery services is highly competitive. In Europe, Flink competes with Gorillas and Getir, among others. They are all geared towards growth and are in the red. A merger with a competitor can reduce costs.
