(Ottawa) The Public Service Alliance of Canada issues an ultimatum. If the federal government and the 155,000 civil servants it represents cannot reach an agreement by 9 p.m. Tuesday, a strike will be called the next day.
That includes the 35,000 employees of the Canada Revenue Agency, as the April 30 deadline for filing tax returns approaches. Salary, job security and telecommuting are still the subject of disagreement. Federal civil servants have been without a contract since 2021.
More details to come.
