After the accidental death of a cyclist in Berlin-Friedrichshain, the public prosecutor’s office accused a truck driver of negligent homicide. This was announced by the authority on Tuesday. The trial against the 57-year-old should therefore take place before the Tiergarten district court.
The woman was run over by the wheels of the tractor unit on May 27, 2021 and died at the accident site on Frankfurter Allee. According to the public prosecutor, the 37-year-old had previously avoided a money transporter that had stopped on a pop-up cycle path – probably without having made sure that the middle lane of the lane was clear.
