In Reinickendorf on Wednesday morning, a man who was riding his bicycle died after an accident with a turning truck. A police spokeswoman confirmed this to the Tagesspiegel. The police spokeswoman initially gave no information on the age of the cyclist.

According to the police, the accident happened around eight o’clock in the morning on Gotthardstrasse at the corner of Teichstrasse in Reinickendorf. The cyclist and the truck driver were traveling in the same direction. When the truck wanted to turn right, it overlooked the cyclist and caught it. The man died shortly thereafter. The police spokeswoman could not provide any further details. The investigation is ongoing.

Again and again there are serious accidents with cars or trucks in Berlin, in which cyclists die. Most recently, an 81-year-old cyclist succumbed to his injuries after being hit by a car in Malchow.
