Cris Cyborg will place her Bellator women’s featherweight title at stake from Leslie Smith on May 21, the advertising announced Friday night throughout the Bellator 255 broadcast.

Cyborg (23-2, 1 NC) is among the finest female fighters of all time. The Brazilian slugger is coming from a second-round entry win over Arlene Blencowe past October. This has been Cyborg’s first title defense.

Cyborg, 35, ceased Julia Budd from fourth-round TKO in January 2020 to acquire the title. That success made Cyborg the first fighter to win titles in four big promotions: UFC, Bellator, Strikeforce and Invicta.

Since 2005, Cyborg was conquered only by UFC double winner Amanda Nunes. Cyborg abandoned the UFC when her contract expired 2019 following a rocky tenure.

Smith (12-8-1) has won four of the previous five conflicts.

Smith, 38, has been completed by Cyborg at 1:21 in UFC 198 on May 14, 2016, however, contested, saying it had been an early stoppage.

She’s famous for her efforts to arrange MMA fighters, that do not have a union or institution.
