Wilson Cruz, an actor, tweeted the news about Saviola’s passing, writing: “What presence was this woman!” My heart is heavy. My deepest sympathies to Camille’s family, and all of her friends in the industry. She will be greatly missed.”

Saviola began her Broadway career. She made her Broadway debut in 1982 as Mama Maddelena, Tommy Tune’s musical Nine. She joined Chicago’s cast in 2003.

She appeared in Nine shortly after her performance. Over the next ten years, she collaborated again with Allen on Shadows and Fog and The Purple Rose of Cairo.

Her other films included Addams Family Values and Penn & Teller Get Killed. Betsy’s Wedding was also one of her films.

Saviola also appears on TV shows like Entourage, First Monday, Judging Amy, and Entourage. Her role as Kai Opaka on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine was her most well-known. She appeared in four episodes from 1993 to 1996.
