In Berlin, the sale of the nine-euro tickets at the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) and the S-Bahn will start on Saturday – provided the Federal Council approves the project on Friday. According to an information page of the transport company, the special ticket should then be available from the BVG from May 21 via the apps and the BVG customer centers.

The Berlin S-Bahn, on the other hand, initially only wants to offer the monthly pass personally in the S-Bahn sales points from Saturday. The ticket should not be available from the ticket machines until Monday.

With the planned monthly ticket, passengers can travel around Germany on local public transport for nine euros – in all cities and across all network borders.

The state of Berlin expects greater demand from the BVG and S-Bahn due to the discounted ticket. Therefore, more buses and trains are to be used on some lines, the Senate Department for Mobility announced on Thursday.
