US President Joe Biden traveled to the state five days after the devastating shooting rampage at an elementary school in Texas that killed 21. He landed in San Antonio on Sunday with his wife Jill. In the nearby small town of Uvalde, an 18-year-old gunman shot dead 19 children and two teachers at an elementary school on Tuesday.
The President and First Lady planned to visit elementary school in Uvalde, attend a church service and meet with families of the victims and survivors.
The shooter locked himself in the school with children and teachers in two connected classrooms on Tuesday and caused the bloodbath there. The police are heavily criticized for dramatic omissions during the operation.
