Berliners should be able to advise the city on tourism issues in the future. A citizens’ advisory board will be created for this purpose: an independent body made up of 24 volunteers, for which all people who are of legal age and have registered their place of residence in Berlin can apply from this Wednesday until mid-September. Two places will be allocated for each district.

You can apply under this link, where personal data and a letter of motivation must be uploaded. The committee is to meet four times a year and discuss, among other things, how tourism in Berlin should develop – or how Berlin neighborhood culture can be preserved.

In addition, public events, so-called citizen forums, are planned twice a year, which take turns in the various districts. The new “Bürger:innenbeirat Berlin-Tourismus” is an initiative of the Senate Economic Administration, Visit Berlin and the Berlin districts. Membership runs for up to three years. The first meeting is scheduled to take place between October 10 and 16, 2022.
