Passengers at the Capital Airport BER can now book time slots for security checks online free of charge. The airport company has set up its own security checkpoint to process these passengers, as the company announced on Thursday.

This is intended to reduce waiting times for travelers. Passengers can book the slots between 72 hours and up to one hour – 1.5 hours for non-Schengen flights – before departure. You have ten minutes before and after the selected time to go through security.
However, the plannable security check does not change the airport’s recommendation to be at BER at least 2.5 hours before departure.
“With BER Runway, however, the time required can be reduced and the time spent in the terminal can be better calculated,” it said. The new offer is “an important step on the way to the further digitization of the processes at our airport”, said the managing director responsible for the operative business, Thomas Hoff Andersson, on Thursday.
