(Lévis) The body of a man was discovered on the banks of the St. Lawrence River, downstream from the cities of Quebec and Lévis, late Saturday afternoon.

A lady who was walking on the shore in Beaumont, in Bellechasse, contacted emergency services around 5 p.m. They discovered the lifeless body of a male individual on the shore, between Anse à Margot and Anse du Village.

The forensic identification service and an investigator are on site to analyze the scene, said the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec, Béatrice Dorsainville.

She adds that identification procedures will be necessary.

It is currently not possible to link this discovery to a disappearance.
