At least five people died in a severe earthquake in southern Iran. Another 44 were injured, the state broadcaster Irib reported on Saturday. According to the US Earthquake Monitor (USGS), the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.0 and occurred in the Persian Gulf. According to authorities, there were also several aftershocks. The village of Sajeh Khosh in Hormuzgan province is said to be hardest hit. The exact damage will be checked.
