What a quiet, beautiful place – hidden on the edge of the old town of Berlin-Spandau. Do you know the Irish Pub behind the Commerzbank? The Spandau newsletter from the Tagesspiegel reported on this in the “My tip” section.

And it all happened quite by accident: Our author has been walking through the old town of Berlin-Spandau for over 40 years and somehow this wonderful green spot has always rushed past his eyes. But first a reader of the Spandau newsletter gave a little tip, then he discovered the place on a walk at the very edge of the old town. “Victoria Celtic Pub” is the name of the place, Kerstin Jackisch is named as the manager and the people were terribly nice when we were there.

It’s really nice outside in the well-kept, small beer garden. Cobblestones, old houses, the moat around the old town in front of us. The beer garden is located on the other side of the street from the actual pub and is not really a beer garden at all, but rather: a nice summer garden to lounge around after work. tourists? Iwo.

It’s blooming and buzzing, after work you can doze off in a deckchair in the semi-shade and chat and chatter with the neighbors (until 10 p.m.). No yelling, no hassle, just relaxation. Also on the drinks menu: Guinness, Kilkenny, Newcastle Brown Ale or Strongbow Cider (all 5.90 per half litre).

If you are brave and want to mix things up, here you go: A mix of heavy Guinness and light cider is called “Snakebite”. Inside the pub the service has a good taste in music. But one more tip: There are also ashtrays inside. And where is the shop now? Ritterstraße at the corner of Viktoria-Ufer, Tuesday to Saturday from 4 p.m. www.victoria-pub.de
