According to reports, a plane crashed into an airport in Georgia and was set on fire.

Firefighters from the DeKalb County Fire Department responded on Friday to DeKalb Peachtree Airport, Chamblee, Georgia.

The scene captured heavy black smoke from the crash site.

DeKalb County Fire Department tweeted that they were present at the scene to investigate the downed plane.

“The only information that I have is that there was a confirmed plane that went down, which resulted in a fire @ PDK,” DeKalb County Fire Captain Jaeson Danis told the Atlanta Journal.

It is not known how many people were on the plane or if there were any injuries.

Officials aren’t certain if the plane was landing or taking off when it crashed.

It is not known what type of plane was involved.

Fox 5 Atlanta reported that DeKalb Peachtree Airport was shut down after the crash.
