A Las Vegas court recommended dismissal of the civil case in connection to the decade-old sexual assault allegations against Cristiano Ronaldo.

The civil court in the US has declared that Kathryn Mayorga’s historic allegations against Manchester United have been thrown out.

Peter S. Christiansen, the forward’s lawyer, stated that he was pleased with the Court’s thorough review of the matter and its willingness and ability to apply the law to all facts and recommend dismissal in civil case against Mr. Ronaldo.

Ronaldo maintained that his relationships with Mayorga were always consensual. A Nevada court recommended that the Portuguese file a motion to end the case.

Mayorga’s legal teams could still object to the court recommendation for dismissal. The court will give Mayorga’s legal teams 14 days to appeal the decision.

The Las Vegas District Attorney had already dismissed the criminal case related to the allegation.

Ronaldo’s legal team requested that a US federal court throw out his civil lawsuit against him in June.

Lawyers representing the Portuguese striker claimed Mayorga’s legal team provided’stolen documents’ to Las Vegas police who were investigating claims.

On Wednesday, Magistrate Judge Daniel Albregts made a harsh recommendation to the judge hearing this case. He said that Mayorga’s lawyer, Leslie Mark Stovall was responsible for basing his case on stolen and leaked documents Albregts claimed were confidential communications between Ronaldo, his lawyers, and Stovall.

Albregts stated in his recommendation to U.S. district Judge Jennifer Dorsey that he would discredit Mayorga’s case because of the inappropriate conduct by her attorney.

“But, it is, unfortunately. the only sanction that can ensure the integrity and fairness of the judicial proceedings.”

According to legal papers filed at the United States District Court, District of Nevada Ronaldo’s attorneys have been pushing for Ms Mayorga to be dismissed from her case since summer due to the conduct of her legal staff.

Ms. Mayorga claims that she was sexually assaulted after a night out in Las Vegas with the footballer in 2009.

Ronaldo continues to strongly deny the claim, and today’s recommendation for case termination almost clears his name before a court.

According to The Mirror Ronaldo settled a case against Ms Mayorga 12 year ago for PS375,000.

In 2018, she sought to overturn the original settlement and is now seeking damages and costs of more than PS56million.

Ronaldo stated that he strongly denied the allegations against him in 2018. Rape is an abominable offense that goes against all I believe in and everything I am.

Georgina Rodriguez (26-year-old Spanish model) stood with Ronaldo over the claims.
