The police and fire brigade triggered a large-scale operation, and a special task force was also deployed. The police were alerted around 11:20 a.m. by a neighbor because he heard a shot.

The building is in a leafy settlement near the Frey Bridge in Spandau, where the military road crosses the Havel.

The two dead men were 38 and 79 years old. The investigators assume that the younger man is the victim of violence, as the spokesman said. The other man is currently considered a suspect.

He was believed to have died as a result of a fire he set. The fire that broke out in the house was extinguished by firefighters.
