A 31-year-old cyclist was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Berlin-Westend on Sunday afternoon. The police announced this on Monday.

According to the current status of the investigation, a 56-year-old man was driving on König-Elisabeth-Straße in a car with a trailer at around 2:10 p.m. when he turned right at an intersection onto Spandauer Damm and apparently overlooked the woman driving straight ahead.

The cyclist is said to have been run over by the trailer, according to the police. She was taken to hospital for treatment with serious injuries to her head, arms and legs.

The investigation into the accident is being carried out by a special commissioner for traffic offenses in Directorate 2 (West).
