A thief stole a car in Berlin-Moabit in front of the owner. However, according to witnesses, he was stopped and arrested with a scene ready for film. As the police announced on Sunday, the 26-year-old car owner and her boyfriend, who was one year older, were loading the unlocked car on Emdener Straße on Saturday afternoon when a man sat in and started the engine. The friend of the owner is said to have stood in the way, but the thief is said to have accelerated anyway.

The 27-year-old landed on the bonnet, but then, according to his own statements, climbed into the car through an open window while driving and pressed the brake. According to the police, the car hit a bollard, a traffic light post and a sidewalk, so that passers-by had to jump aside.
