First we thought about it, then we decided in principle and now the date has been announced: The next edition of the Saturday evening classic “Wetten, dass ..?” will take place on November 19, 2022. ZDF confirmed this to the media service DWDL.de. At noon, ZDF followed suit with a tweet that said: “Bet we can predict Twitter trends on November 19, 2022?”
As usual, it will start at 8:15 p.m., then ORF and SRF will be there again when the most bizarre bets are put on for a reality check. ZDF had previously announced that this and another edition of “Wetten, dass ..?” will be moderated by Thomas Gottschalk in the coming year.
The Mainz broadcaster wants to communicate further details “in due course”. Among other things, it is not yet known at which location the edition will take place in November.
In the show in November 2021, Michelle Hunziker sat as co-moderator alongside Thomas Gottschalk on the XXL sofa in the Nuremberg exhibition hall. It has not yet been announced whether she will be on board again this year and next.
However, this does not have to prevent viewers from already preparing for the next show – or helping ZDF with the preparations. ZDF entertainment boss Oliver Heidemann had already called on the audience to submit their betting ideas in January.
The decision for two more “Wetten, dass ..?” programs was not difficult for ZDF after the anniversary show in November – in which Frank Elstner also took part as the inventor of the format. With 14 million viewers, the show had a rating that was reminiscent of the best years of the show that started in 1981.
