Summer comes to Berlin and Brandenburg at the weekend. As reported by the German Weather Service (DWD) in Potsdam, temperatures will rise to 23 to 27 degrees on Friday and 24 to 28 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday it will be cloudy at first, then sun and clouds will change. It can rain a little in the north and west of Brandenburg. According to the forecast, Sunday will be clear to cloudy and dry.

With the expected high temperatures at the weekend, the risk of forest fires in Brandenburg is increasing again. “The situation has not eased in the past few days, and the danger increases even more with increasing solar radiation,” said forest fire protection officer Raimund Engel on Friday. He reported 162 fires since the beginning of the season.

Engel expected further fires in forest areas, but no “extreme situation”. According to him, the danger levels will be between 3 and 4. According to the Ministry of the Environment, the second highest forest fire risk level 4 applied in the districts of Prignitz and Havelland on Friday, and level 3 in six districts. Risk level 2 was issued for the other districts.
