The US automaker Tesla apparently has to recall 59,129 Model Y and 3 vehicles worldwide. The Federal Motor Transport Authority published a corresponding recall campaign on Wednesday. Accordingly, software errors lead to the failure of the so-called e-call system. First the rbb reported.

Vehicles produced in the Brandenburg Giga-Factory could also be affected. The affected model series Y is also manufactured in the Tesla factory in Grünheide.

According to rbb, several users of the online forum “Tesla Drivers and Friends” reported a delivery stop last week. Tesla is said to have justified this with “safety-related defects”. On Monday, the Federal Motor Transport Authority is said to have confirmed to rbb that there was no recall campaign for the Tesla Model Y.

According to the electric car manufacturer, the E-Call system, which according to the Federal Motor Transport Authority is affected by the software errors, is an emergency call system that automatically alerts rescue workers in the event of an accident or emergency and forwards information to the emergency call center.

It is still unclear whether the recall will actually also affect vehicles that were produced in Grünheide. Tesla has not yet commented.
