At the capital’s BER airport in Schönefeld, numerous people had to leave the terminal after a fire alarm on Wednesday morning. A fire alarm went off around 9:15 a.m. in the kitchen of a partner company, an airport spokesman said. It didn’t burn, the fire brigade was able to check and rectify the situation “within a few minutes”.

The middle main hall had to be cleared, including the check-in area. The operation in the pavilions to the left and right of the hall continued, the spokesman said. The spokesman could not say whether flights were missed due to the short interruption.
