Skaters Kulizhnikov and Voronina won the gold medal at the world Championships

Russian speed skater Pavel Kulizhnikov won the gold medal in the race at 1000 meters at the world championship on separate distances, which takes place in the U.S. city of salt lake city.

a Native of Vorkuta overcame the distance in a record one minute of 5.69 seconds. The second was the Dutchman Child Naas (1.06,730), his compatriot Thomas Krol (1.06,749) rounded out the top three. Another Russian Ruslan Murashov became the ninth and Victor Mushtukov – 12-M.

Russia’s Natalia Voronina with the world record won the gold medal in the 5000 meters, 25-year-old athlete overcame the distance in six minutes 39,021 seconds, and Olga Fatkulina took silver on a distance of 1000 meters.

Thus, the Russian team with nine awards in the lead in the medal standings. Russian skaters won three gold, four silver and two bronze medals. Second place is occupied by the Dutch (3-4-1), the third – Canadians (2-1-3).
