The transport companies in Berlin and Brandenburg also want to start selling the so-called 9-euro ticket on May 23 – provided the Bundestag and Bundesrat approve the project this week. Everything is prepared, the companies are ready for the start of sales next Monday, said a spokesman for the Berlin-Brandenburg transport association (VBB) of the German Press Agency. The tickets could then be purchased online or via the ticket machines. So far, the association had announced the start for the second half of May.
With the planned monthly ticket, passengers can travel around Germany on local public transport for nine euros – in all cities and across all network borders. The tickets can then also be bought online or at the counter from other transport companies such as Deutsche Bahn. Many associations have already announced that they also want to start selling on May 23rd.
