Rainbow colored toys have been confiscated in Saudi Arabia for allegedly violating “Muslim faith and public morals”. Clothing produced primarily for children, such as rainbow skirts and hats and pencil cases, are also being removed from shops in the capital Riyadh, state television reported. The colors would send a “poisoned message” to the children.

“We are showing a few examples of the items that go against Muslim beliefs and public morals and that promote homosexual colors,” said a representative from the Department of Commerce involved in the campaign in the televised segment Tuesday night.

The articles are intended to consciously appeal to the younger generation. The TV report did not say how many products were confiscated.
