Parent and teacher representatives and several initiatives from the education sector are calling on Red-Green-Red during the budget negotiations to withdraw planned cuts in education. In addition to an open letter, there should be a 24-hour vigil on Thursday, during which the signatories want to spend the night in front of the House of Representatives.

In detail, it is about 16 million euros per year for the acquisition and training of new teachers, more money for educational staff such as teaching aids, supervisors and school assistants as well as 136 million euros for school construction, which are not included in the Senate draft for the double budget 2022/2023 show up more.

The organizers of “Schools must be different”, the “School in Need” initiative, representatives of the State Parents’ Committee, the State Committee for Educational Staff and several District Parents’ Committees want to be on site during this time and available to interested parties.
