According to Palestinian sources, a Palestinian was killed near the border fence between the West Bank and Israel.

The man was shot dead by Israeli security forces, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said on Sunday. The Israeli army said it was investigating the incident.

A day earlier, three Palestinians were said to have been killed in an operation by the Israeli army in the city of Jenin. Israeli soldiers fired on the car in which the three Palestinians were sitting, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported on Friday.

Eight other people were injured. At the time of the incident there were “violent clashes” in the area.

The well-known journalist Shirin Abu Akleh was also shot dead at the end of May. The Israeli army has now stated that Abu Akleh was not shot “on purpose”. The Israeli security forces also used violence during the funeral.
