A new scandal shakes the Saxon security authorities. The NPD politician Hartmut Krien spent several days at the gate of the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) in Saxony. This was confirmed by the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution on Wednesday evening in Dresden.

On the authority premises in the north of Dresden, Krien monitored access to the area for ten days between April 1 and May 10, seven of them in night shifts. The State Office for the Protection of the Constitution and the Saxon Counter-Terrorism and Extremism Center are also located there.

The right-wing extremist sat on the Dresden City Council for the NPD from 2004 to 2019. The “Bild” newspaper first reported on his porter’s work. Contrary to what is shown there, Krien was not sitting in the gate of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, but at the entrance to the entire area, it said. He was employed by a private security company.

The NPD politician is said to have been responsible for checking people entering the government premises. It was apparently possible for him to obtain information about employees and visitors.

The well-known right-wing extremist initially went undetected. On May 10, however, he was recognized by visitors to the authorities, it said.
