(Montreal) An argument that broke out in the parking lot of a north Montreal gas station late Thursday night required the admission to hospital of a 21-year-old man who was injured after being stabbed in the upper body.

At the end of the night, Friday, the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) had obtained confirmation that the injuries inflicted on the victim did not put his life in danger.

The altercation took place around 10:30 p.m. for a reason still unknown outside the establishment located on rue de Salaberry, near the intersection of rue Marsan, in the New Bordeaux district.

After stabbing the victim, the suspicious person fled in an unknown direction. No arrests had been made, at last report.

Viewing the contents of surveillance cameras had not yet made it possible to determine whether the suspect had fled on foot or in a vehicle.

The crime scene was protected to allow SPVM investigators to do their job.
