A woman and a child were injured in an act of violence at a school in Esslingen near Stuttgart on Friday morning.
According to the police, the alleged perpetrator has not yet been caught. It is also possible that he is still on the school premises, said a police spokesman.
Further details about the circumstances of the crime are not yet known, it said. The police also used a helicopter for the large-scale operation.
According to the spokesman, children are currently being looked after in the school during the Baden-Württemberg Pentecost holidays. However, it is not clear whether the two victims were attacked in or near the school in the morning and whether they belonged to holiday care.
