More about the corona pandemic:
Stiko’s recommendation to vaccinate children between the ages of five and eleven came much too late. Nor is it consistent enough. At the end of November 2021, the European Medicines Agency approved the vaccine from Biontech and Pfizer for children aged five to eleven. Before Christmas, the first children in Germany were vaccinated – without the unqualified recommendation of the Stiko. This made many parents hesitate, the uncertainty was great. The result: the vaccination rate for five to eleven year olds is low. And it is doubtful whether the current recommendation with just one injection in the fall with new corona variants and increasing numbers of cases will still apply.
